Warton Bowling Club

The Club play crown green bowls and the green is situated at the northerly end of Chapel Walk and has been there since the land was purchased in 1928 and currently has approximately 60 members.

The green is one of the best in the area and visiting bowlers and members enjoy the fine surface which is maintained all year round by club members.

We run 2 teams in the Morecambe Bowling League (A, B) and 2 teams (A & B) in the Lancaster Midweek Bowling League, which are mixed and open age. These matches are played on a Wednesday and Tuesday evenings respectively and starting times are 7.00pm (6.30pm April and August).

Also four vet's teams turn out, two in the South Westmorland Seniors Bowling League (Monday afternoons) and the other two in the Lancaster & District Veterans Bowling League (Thursday afternoons) which are again mixed but for over 60’s.

At all other times during the summer the club is open for social bowling and club competitions, when members can enjoy a less competitive game amongst friends.

The club is always looking to recruit new members, so whether you wish to play competitive league bowls, take part in a relaxing friendly game or both, contact us and if you are new to the game we can arrange a visit when the fundamentals of the game can be explained and tried by you.

Full Playing Membership is £50 for the summer season, plus a one-off £12 registration fee to The Crown Green Bowling Association, with reduced rates for juniors and students.

Warton Bowling ClubStarting in 2014 we introduced a Social Membership, for anyone wishing just to play a friendly game of bowls but who does not wish to play in the League Teams, for a subscription of £22.50p for the summer season.

For further information or to arrange a try out session, contact Helen Stephenson on 01524 73328.
