Visit and tour of Claver Hill Community Garden

Thursday 9 May.  Arrive 10.15am Claver Hill, Ridge Lane, Lancaster  LA1 3JY.  Tour starts 10.30am.

After our talk in April from Kathy Barton about Claver Hill Community Garden we have arranged a visit and tour of Claver Hill. If you weren't with us for the talk, this is a community food project located on six acres of land on the edge of Lancaster.

The project hosts a number of different initiatives such as a seed exchange, composting, natural dyes, beehives, raised beds, heritage apples, and a preserves group.

Our visit will include their nature walk with terrain that is rough and uneven in places, so do please be mindful of this.  And whilst we've had some sunshine this week, do please dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

The tour will start at 10.30am so please arrive for 10.15am to be ready to start.  We are making our own way to the site but happy to share transport if possible. See location map below.

Do let us know if you're making your own way so we can expect you or if you need a lift  - please contact our Chair, Emma Berry, on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or text her on 07960 716454.

There is no charge for the visit. The Gardening Club will make a donation to Claver Hill to help replace their small cafe and compost toilet which was burnt down by vandals a few weeks ago.

Come along and be inspired.
